The State of Connecticut, under an agreement with OSHA, operates an occupational safety and health program in accordance with Section 18(b) of the Occupational Safety and health Act of 1970.The Connecticut Occupational Safety and Health Division (CONN-OSHA) is part of the Connecticut Department of Labor. Connecticut OSHA is currently headed by Mr. Kenneth Tucker, Program Manager. Connecticut OSHA is located in Wethersfield, Connecticut.

 

The Connecticut State Plan applies to all public sector employers other than the Federal government employees. Federal government employees are covered by Federal OSHA, which also exercises jurisdiction over most private sector employers in the State of Connecticut.The state of Connecticut exercises safety and health jurisdiction over most private sector employers in the state, and over public sector employers other than the federal government.

Course description: U.S. OBackground: U.S. OSHA created the Outreach Training for the purpose of expanding the knowledge base of employers and employees across the country relative to their standards and guidelines, thereby enhancing safety and health in the American workplace.SHA requires four specific topics be included in every 10-Hr. program, with an additional six hours of elective topics. Each module includes lesson quizzes to test the student’s comprehension of the material just presented. There is a final quiz at the end of each module which requires each student to attain at least 70% correct to progress to the next module. Upon conclusion of the entire program, each student will take a final quiz, with the same 70% minimum correct requirement. At the time of completion, the student will be able to download and print a 360Training certificate indicating successful completion of the course, and for continuing education credit purposes. In addition, the student will receive their U.S. OSHA 10-Hr. G.I. wallet card from the US department of Labor. The OSHA card generally takes 4 to 6 weeks to arrive, but can take up to 8 weeks during a particularly busy time.

HAZWOPER 24 Hour is required for employees visiting an Uncontrolled Hazardous Waste Operation mandated by the Government.
This course covers broad issues pertaining to the hazard recognition at work sites. OSHA has developed the HAZWOPER program to protect the workers working at hazardous sites and devised extensive regulations to ensure their safety and health. This course, while identifying different types of hazards, also suggests possible precautions and protective measures to reduce or eliminate hazards at the work place.
Note: Workers must have 24 hours of initial training and one day of supervised field experience before they are allowed to enter the site. **The online course meets the standard requirement of 24hrs of initial training. OSHA 40 Hour Hazwoper Training Online Course DemoHAZWOPER 40 Hour is required for employees working on a project consisting of Uncontrolled Hazardous Waste Operation mandated by the Government.

This course is specifically designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, voluntary clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. Topics include protection against hazardous chemicals, elimination of hazardous chemicals, safety of workers and the environment and OSHA regulations. This course covers topics included in 29 CFR 1910.120.

Note: Trainees must have additional hands-on training in the donning, doffing, and use of the Personal Protective Equipment required for their jobsite(s) in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120.

Workers must also have 40 hrs of initial training before they may enter the site and at least three days of actual field experience under a trained, seasoned supervisor. The three days field experience under a trained, experienced supervisor is the responsibility of the student employer or potential employer.
