The Nevada State Plan is administered by the Division of Industrial Relations (DIR), Department of Business and Industry. Within the DIR, an enforcement section and consultation section have been established. Enforcement is provided by the Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Nevada OSHA), and Consultation is provided by the Nevada Safety Consultation and Training Section (SCATS). The Nevada State Plan applies to all public and private sector employers in the State, with the exception of Federal employees, the United State Postal Service (USPS), private sector maritime, employment on Indian Lands, and areas of exclusive Federal jurisdiction. See 29 CFR 1952.295.The state of Alaska exercises safety and health jurisdiction over most private sector employers in the state, and over public sector employers other than the federal government.

Course description: U.S. OBackground: U.S. OSHA created the Outreach Training for the purpose of expanding the knowledge base of employers and employees across the country relative to their standards and guidelines, thereby enhancing safety and health in the American workplace.SHA requires four specific topics be included in every 10-Hr. program, with an additional six hours of elective topics. The four required topics are, (one hour each):

There is a final quiz at the end of each module which requires each student to attain at least 70% correct to progress to the next module. Upon conclusion of the entire program, each student will take a final quiz, with the same 70% minimum correct requirement. Upon successful completion of the course, our OSHA Outreach Trainer will email you proof that you have passed the course and are in compliance with outreach guidelines. As of April 1st, 2010, OSHA no longer allows "temporary certificates" to be issued. This module is comprised of 23 sections, each either one or two hours in length, and covering topics pertaining to regulations covered by Standard 29 CFR 1926. The successful completion of this course will help to meet the Construction Industry standards established by OSHA. You will be sent a copy of OSHA Standards for Construction. The book will serve as an invaluable resource for referencing OSHA standards that have been covered in this course, as well as researching regulations or standards that could help in establishing a safer workplace. You will also find supplementary materials available for download by clicking the ""Materials"" tab on the menu located within the courseplayer. You can find printable course summaries of each module in addition to a syllabus of the entire 30 hour course. Hazwoper 24 Hour Course
HAZWOPER 24 Hour is required for employees visiting an Uncontrolled Hazardous Waste Operation mandated by the Government. This course covers broad issues pertaining to the hazard recognition at work sites. OSHA has developed the HAZWOPER program to protect the workers working at hazardous sites and devised extensive regulations to ensure their safety and health. This course, while identifying different types of hazards, also suggests possible precautions and protective measures to reduce or eliminate hazards at the work place. Note: Workers must have 24 hours of initial training and one day of supervised field experience before they are allowed to enter the site. **The online course meets the standard requirement of 24hrs of initial training. The one day field experience under a trained, experienced supervisor is the responsibility of the student's employer or potential employer. OSHA 40 Hour Hazwoper Training 
HAZWOPER 40 Hour is required for employees working on a project consisting of Uncontrolled Hazardous Waste Operation mandated by the Government.
This course is specifically designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, voluntary clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. Topics include protection against hazardous chemicals, elimination of hazardous chemicals, safety of workers and the environment and OSHA regulations. This course covers topics included in 29 CFR 1910.120. Note: Trainees must have additional hands-on training in the donning, doffing, and use of the Personal Protective Equipment required for their jobsite(s) in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120. Workers must also have 40 hrs of initial training before they may enter the site and at least three days of actual field experience under a trained, seasoned supervisor. The three days field experience under a trained, experienced supervisor is the responsibility of the student employer or potential employer. Hazwoper 8 Hour Annual Refresher Course 
This course meets the requirements in OSHA 29 CFR 1910. 120 for eight hours of annual refresher training for workers at hazardous waste sites. This course is designed for general site workers who remove hazardous waste or who are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances or health hazards. Topics include HAZWOPER regulations, safety and health plans, hazardous chemicals, safety hazards, air monitoring, medical surveillance, site control, decontamination, personal protective equipment, and respiratory equipment. This course covers the topics in OSHA 29 CFR 1910. 120. Prerequisites: Enrollment is open to those who have already completed the 40-hour or 24-hour HAZWOPER training.

Regulations and Standards Nevada adopts federal OSHA standards by reference and enforces OSHA standards contained within 29 CFR, parts 1910 (General Industry), 1926 (Construction) and 1928 (Agriculture). In addition, Nevada has adopted additional requirements to include: safety programs, cranes, steel erection, construction projects, asbestos, explosives, ammonium perchlorate and photovoltaic system projects.
